Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality

Brief description of the technology

Virtual reality is based on creating virtual elements of an unreal world and allowing the user to interact with them. The immersion factor is essential to achieve greater interaction with virtual elements.

Augmented reality, unlike virtual reality, seeks to superimpose extra information on reality. To do this, it will be necessary devices that have cameras through which they capture reality and then show on the screen the virtual elements (information, images, videos, 3D models) superimposed on the real physical environment. Mixed reality, also sometimes called hybrid reality. This combination makes it possible to create new spaces in which both real and virtual objects and/or people interact. In other words, it can be considered as a mix between reality, augmented reality, augmented virtuality and virtual reality.

Benefits of your
Incorporation into the company

Time reduction

The use of virtual reality for training makes it possible to reduce the learning times of workers, as it provides didactic tools at their disposal at any time and that adapt to their learning curve.

Error reduction

All the layers of information available allow operations to be more controlled in a virtual environment until they are mastered, before being carried out in reality.

Quality & Safety

The inclusion of virtual, augmented and mixed reality in companies makes it possible to improve the quality with which work is carried out, as it is carried out with greater precision and following guidelines and criteria that are shown to the operator in real time.

Examples of
Enterprise Application

Mixed reality application for the detection of interference in the plant. This application allows, through the use of mixed reality technology, to check in situ, the deviations produced between the 3D BIM model and the executed reality. In addition, by using this application, the company was able to save costs by avoiding costly modifications and changes. All the information of each element of the complex and/or installation can be modified in real time through a simple and easy-to-use interface, so that, based on the actions carried out, they are modified in real time through SCADA.

Augmented reality project in an industrial plant: in order for the company to show its visitors the true magnitude of its facilities, the plant was modeled in 3D, the App was developed to finally integrate the 3D model into the Augmented Reality APP.
